Yesterday a butterfly almost landed on me.

I was on the turd field in Ridgewood. I saw it floating toward me. I slowed down, held out my fingers as a landing pad. She danced around, looking at me, observing me, and then flew away.

I was wearing a shirt with a fleet of butterflies, maybe she recognized a friend.

I pulled the world card yesterday, a woman flying in a wreath, each corning holding a head of the four evangelists. She is alchemizing. All around her the apotropaic symbols of words and people long past. The angel, the ox, the lion, and the eagle.

Then I got dinner on a boat in the Hudson. Sitting around the table after dinner for another drink, the four of us girls resembled the four heads of the world. Each different, beautiful, wise from our own experiences and loving each other.
